1227 PARK CIRCLE, LAS VEGAS

Historic Estate in Las Vegas’ Affluent Scotch 80s Community Listed for $2.4 Million

LAS VEGAS, NV – A historic estate in Las Vegas’s affluent Scotch 80s community has been listed on the open market for $2.4 million, with the realtor representing the seller noting that the residence represents a perfect melding of the Valley’s rich history and the modern day flash and showiness that Sin City is known the world over for.

The estate, located at 1227 Park Circle in Scotch 80s – the first-ever master-planned community in Southern Nevada and home to many celebrities over the years, such as singer Prince, actor Frank Sinatra, and comedian Jerry Lewis – is being represented by real estate agency Huntington & Ellis, and is located just minutes away from the famed Las Vegas Strip.

One of the main attractions of this home is its rich history and famed location,” said realtor Carlos Rivera. “Living downtown offers an unparalleled experience, where residents walk the same streets as the city’s most historic figures. There is also a variety of amenities at your fingertips, ranging from world-class restaurants to breweries and nightlife to art galleries and boutique and vintage shops.”

The single-story estate offers 4,254 square feet of living space, with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a two-car garage. The home, originally built in the mid-20th century, was recently renovated and given a makeover in terms of its design aesthetic, but the realtor notes that great care was given in preserving its charming history and creating a compelling mixture of old and new.

1227 PARK CIRCLE, LAS VEGAS – $2,299,999.00

The dwelling’s ultra-modern kitchen features tile backsplashes, Taj Mahal Quartz countertops, a grand island, built-in stainless-steel appliances, and custom wood cabinetry. The primary suite boasts a private entrance to the backyard and an eye-popping floor-to-ceiling custom stone fireplace; the primary bath comes complete with standalone soaking tub, tiled shower with double rainfall shower heads, and double built-in vanities.

The estate also comes with many lush amenities, including a backyard with a resort-style pool, a raised spa covered in sparkling tile, a built-in barbecue area with covered seating, a large patio, and several outdoor lounge areas with aesthetic lighting.

Western Hotel & Casino

Las Vegas’ Iconic Western Hotel & Casino Now Up for Sale for Undisclosed Price

LAS VEGAS, NV – The Western Hotel & Casino, an iconic part of the Las Vegas downtown scene steeped in the rich history of the city, is reportedly up for sale for an undisclosed price.

Originally closing down in 2012, the hotel is one of the many properties in Vegas previously owned by the late Tony Hsieh, who passed away in November 2020 at the age of 46 due to injuries suffered in a Connecticut house fire.

Hsieh – who was worth hundreds of millions of dollars at the time of his death – headed up retail shoe selling giant Zappos before selling it to Amazon in 2009 for over $1 billion; he later retired as CEO in August 2020. He is also credited for having pledged $350 million to the renovation and revitalization of Downtown Las Vegas.

A real estate brokerage firm, Logic Commercial Real Estate, was selected by Hsieh’s estate in May 2023 to sell five of his downtown Las Vegas properties, the Western Hotel & Casino being among them.

Boston Omaha Asset Management – an investment firm owned by Logic’s chairman and co-founder Brendan Keating, who was named its co-managing partner four months before the Hsieh listings were announced – recently purchased several downtown properties from Hsieh’s estate for approximately $24.7 million.

The Western Hotel & Casino, as described by the sales pitch, is a “rare, full city block redevelopment opportunity in Downtown Las Vegas.” The establishment, which is two stories tall and has approximately 49 hotel rooms, charged about $37 a night at the time of its closing. Originally built in 1970, the four-parcel property – which sits upon a 1.3-acre plot of land with 300 feet of frontage on Fremont Street – was mainly known for its cheap slot machines, bingo, and table games.

Hsieh’s Downtown Project had previously purchased the property for $14 million in 2013.

Jose Canseco

MLB Legend Jose Canseco’s Las Vegas Home on Market for $1.6 Million, Listed Six Months with No Takers

LAS VEGAS, NV – Major League Baseball (MLB) legend Jose Canseco has listed his lavish Las Vegas, Nevada home for sale on the open market for the reported amount of $1.6 million.

Canseco, 59, originally purchased the 5,100-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath residence – located in an affluent, guard-gated master-planned community located a short drive from downtown Las Vegas – in 2021 for $1.1 million, after which he carried out more than $200,000 in renovations and upgrades.

He originally listed the home for sale in September 2023 for $1.7 million; one month later he cut the price by $100,000, and that amount is still what he’s asking despite the property still remaining on the market six months later without any takers.

The home is located in a private cul-de-sac and it’s front and back yards are surrounded by electric fences, something that’s sure to appeal to the security-conscious. It features a Spanish-tile roof, a living room with a marble fireplace and large arched window, a huge kitchen boasting top-of-the-line Wolf appliances, and a formal dining room with a glossy tile floor.

3340 MONTECITO DRIVE, LAS VEGAS – $1,600,000.00

The large bedrooms are luxurious, with the primary suite offering a sitting area and a bathroom with a wraparound marble vanity and glass-enclosed shower.

The house also offers many amenities, including a fitness studio and a backyard with an in-ground pool, a koi pond, a barbecue, and low-maintenance artificial grass. There’s also an attached two-bedroom casita with a full kitchen, living and dining area.

This isn’t the first real estate sale the former pro baseballer has attempted to make in Southern Nevada; in August 2023 he put a car wash he had been running in Vegas up for sale – Jose Canseco’s Showtime Car Wash – although it is currently uncertain if he still remains the owner as of press time.

Canseco played 17 seasons in MLB and is best known for his time with the Oakland Athletics. During his career, he won Rookie of the Year (1986) and the Most Valuable Player award (1988), in addition to being a six-time All-Star. He is a two-time World Series champion with the Oakland Athletics (1989) and the New York Yankees (2000), and in 1988 became the first player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in a single season.

1526 Dragon Crest Ave, Henderson, NV 89012

“Breathtaking” Custom Henderson Home Overlooking Las Vegas Strip on Sale for $18.5 Million

LAS VEGAS, NV – A custom-built home overlooking the famed Las Vegas Strip, described by its listing agent as “breathtaking” and boasting an aviation-themed design and impressive 30-foot ceilings, has been listed on the market for $18.5 million.

Located in Henderson within the MacDonald Highlands master-planned community of Dragon’s Reserve, the home – built by noted luxury developer Blue Heron in 2021 – features over 10,067 square-feet of living space with seven bathrooms.

The listing agent, Natalia Harris of Las Vegas Sotheby’s International Realty, said that the incredible views offered by the elevated property make it a unique find in Southern Nevada.

As you step inside, you instantly feel like you are soaring over Vegas,” she said. “The combination of the 30-foot ceilings, open floor and panoramic Strip, city and mountain views truly make it one of a kind.”

The listing notes that the home is filled with clever technological gadgets that give it a vibe like something out of a James Bond movie; these features include a hand sensor that allows you to access the primary suite with a mere gesture in the air, as well as 23-foot motorized pocket sliding doors.

1526 DRAGON CREST AVENUE, HENDERSON – $18,500,000.00

There are numerous other high-end amenities included with the impressive abode, including a full gym, a well-equipped chef’s kitchen, a spa, and even a 2,000-square-foot infinity pool.

The current owners of the property are both pilots, and have noted that the home was custom-built for them around an aviation-themed design aesthetic; to that end, the residence has numerous angles reminiscent of those you would find within airplanes and hangers, as well as glass walls and tall ceilings. There is also a large garage that houses the sellers’ personal aviation museum.

Despite sales of homes being down overall currently in Vegas, the luxury home market – as well as all-cash sales – are still red hot, and account for the majority of the transactions made in the region this past year.

1701 WALDMAN AVENUE, LAS VEGAS

Former Vegas Home of Comedy Legend Jerry Lewis for Sale Once Again, $2.5 Million

LAS VEGAS, NV – After changing hands several times in recent years, the former Las Vegas home of comedy legend Jerry Lewis is once again for sale, with the current owner asking $2.5 million.

Lewis had resided in the home – located in Las Vegas’ swanky Scotch 80s neighborhood – for almost 35 years; upon his death in 2017, it initially had difficulty in finding a buyer before eventually being sold to Jane Popple in 2019 for $1.2 million. It was then auctioned off for the sum of $2.5 million, but when the bid fell through, it was listed on the open market for $1.8 million.

Thereafter, the property was sold to Iddo Gavish of Century 21 Gavish Real Estate for approximately $1.4 million. Gavish had spruced up the property before putting up for sale, modernizing the home with several large-scale updates to the landscaping, gates, pool, master bathroom and kitchen due to a need for “rehab and renovation.”

Later, the home – which comes in at 7,230 square-feet and offers an impressive six bedrooms and six bathrooms – was purchased by Blooming Desert LLC in 2021 for $1.4 million. It was then put up for sale for a brief amount of time in 2022 for an asking price of $2.7 million; however, the home was later sold in September 2023 in a foreclosure sale for approximately $2 million to Brumbies Capital, a private lending company.

1701 WALDMAN AVENUE, LAS VEGAS – $2,500,000.00

Nate Strager of Luxury Estates International Is the listing agent for the property, which was put on the market on January 17. The home listing notes that additional renovations were carried out following the foreclosure amounting to approximately $40,000 worth of work, which focused mainly on landscaping and refinishing the pool.

Two sets of sliding glass doors gaze out to an extensively renovated backyard with new turf, mature trees, brick walkways, a gazebo and firepit-ready corner patio,” the listing says.

Other amenities in the house include a large chandelier in the family room, a covered balcony overlooking downtown Las Vegas, and a three-car garage with a small living space that could function as an additional bedroom.

Summerlin Community

Single-Story Residence in Las Vegas’ Summerlin Community Sold for $2 Million

LAS VEGAS, NV – Located within a gated community of Las Vegas’ Summerlin neighborhood, a lavish single-story house hit the market for nearly $2.1 million and quickly sold, signifying how luxury sales in Southern Nevada have remained relatively unaffected by the ongoing inflation and high mortgage interest rates impacting the rest of the country.

Situated within Onyx Point – a gated community at the Cliffs of Summerlin – the home, located at 10020 Terrastone Drive, first listed for $2.075 million and is comprised of 3,490 square feet of living space spread out over four bedrooms, four baths, an office, a three-car garage, and a large backyard.

According to realtor Sarah Gabany, who is representing the seller, the residence was designed with an eye for detail and features numerous amenities and contemporary flourishes, such as 12-foot exposed beam ceilings, porcelain tile with a wooden finish, and several fireplaces.

This single-story home seamlessly combines modern sophistication with natural charm all while being set along Summerlin’s cliff line,” Gabany said. “Situated in an exclusive neighborhood of just 60 homes, it provides a quaint and strong sense of community where neighbors know each other.”

Features include a courtyard with covered entry; an open concept layout with multislider doors that provide a seamless conduit between the indoors and outdoors; a living room with an electric tile fireplace; a chef’s kitchen with a 12.5-foot quartz waterfall island, stainless steel appliances – including a double oven and oversized refrigerator – and white tile backsplash; and a three-car garage with electric vehicle chargers, storage racks, and multiple cabinets.

Meanwhile, the main bathroom offers marble floors, granite countertops, and dual vanities, in addition to a floor-to-ceiling marble tiled shower and soaking tub.

While the furniture is not included in the asking price, interested buyers are able to negotiate to potentially add it to the sale for an additional fee.

The high sale price for this home is yet another example of how the luxury housing market in Las Vegas has defied recent trends; whereas home sales have slowed overall amid the economic turmoil that is gripping the nation, the luxury market in Southern Nevada has not only held steady, but shown signs of continued growth.

The home sold on December 12th, for $2,000,000.

Oasis Hotel at night, Las Vegas

Gold Spike & Oasis Hotel of Las Vegas, Previously Owned by Tony Hsieh, Now Listed for Sale

LAS VEGAS, NV – The Gold Spike & Oasis Hotel, a historic property located in downtown Las Vegas and previously owned by late Zappos boss Tony Hsieh, has been listed on the open market by his family, which has engaged the services of brokerage firm Logic Commercial Real Estate to aid in the sale.

According to Logic Commercial Real Estate’s website, the Hsieh family began accepting offers earlier in December, although no asking price has been listed as of yet, and it is as of yet unknown if any offers have been made or accepted on the hotel.

The Gold Spike & Oasis Hotel is comprised of two adjacent properties with a combined 70,861-square-feet in size, situated on 1.5-acre plot of land. The hotel offers a total of 130 rooms split amongst the two buildings, as well as a bar and a nightlife entertainment venue.

The establishment has not been providing gambling to patrons, but it nonetheless still possesses a Nevada gaming license, which has been preserved by the current ownership.

Originally opening its doors for business in 1976 under the name of The Rendezvous, the Gold Spike & Oasis was purchased by Hsieh in 2013 for $22 million.

Hsieh passed away in November 2021 at the age of 46 due to injuries suffered in a Connecticut house fire, reports say.

For two decades, Hsieh – who was worth hundreds of millions of dollars at the time of his death – headed up retail shoe selling giant Zappos before selling it to Amazon in 2009 for over $1 billion; he later retired as CEO in August 2020. He is also credited for having pledged $350 million to the renovation and revitalization of Downtown Las Vegas.

In February 2021, much of the Las Vegas real estate empire amassed by Hsieh was listed on the open market by his family, totaling nearly 100 properties throughout the downtown area.

Recently, Logic Commercial Real Estate was tasked with selling an additional five of Hsieh’s properties, including The Gold Spike & Oasis, The Downtowner Hotel, the John E. Carson office and the building occupied by Nacho Daddy on Fourth Street.

Prado Lot12 Front Exterior

Las Vegas’ Luxury Prado Community Offering Pre-Designed, Custom-Built Homes

LAS VEGAS, NV – Prado, a new Blue Heron Nexus community nestled within Las Vegas’ Section 10 neighborhood – one of the oldest developments in the Valley – is currently offering multiple plots of land upon which buyers can select a series of luxury, pre-designed, custom-built homes that the company will construct for them.

However, these homes aren’t cheap, with the starting price point coming in at $1.8 million and the average home selling for $3.5 million. Blue Heron offers four different floor plans to choose from, each with different elevation styles and structural options, ensuring each home will be different.

The Nexus division of Blue Heron is a new addition to the firm, with the communities they create offering an alternative to designing and custom-building homes. Their Las Vegas community – which opened this past June – sits upon 10 acres and currently has 18 oversized homesites, with over 50 percent of them having already been sold.

(Nexus) started three years ago. We take all the best Blue Heron architecture and predesign a series of homes. We have five different product lines in 10 Nexus communities,” said Chris Beucler, President of Blue Heron’s Nexus division. “What makes this product so unique is we designed it for infill projects. Prado was an old-school site that got sold to another developer. We purchased it from them. We have 10 acres here that we turned into half-acre homesites.”

For those who wish to try before they buy, however, Blue Heron currently has an impressive $6.5 million show home listed for sale within Prado that illustrates just what you can really acquire from the company if you have exceedingly deep pockets.

7388 OLIVE CREEK COURT, LAS VEGAS – $6,500,000.00

The show home – located at 7388 Olive Creek Court on a half-acre plot of land – offers 5,887-square-feet of space and features the unique “Vegas Modern” style architecture exclusive to Prado, and a semi-custom floor plan with four en suite bedrooms, five full and one-half baths, and an attached four-car garage.

You’re getting the same team designing these homes as you are in an elite home,” Beucler said. “You can look at any of our homes, and it doesn’t look like another home you’d see in the market. It looks like a full custom home.”

Las Vegas home of ex-mobster John Spilotro hits market for $550K

Vegas Home Linked to Mobster Tony “The Ant” Spilotro Hits Market for $550K

LAS VEGAS, NV – The former Las Vegas residence of a mobster linked to the real-life inspiration of one of the characters from the 1995 crime movie “Casino” has been listed on the real estate market for $550,000

Casino was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. The movie follows Sam “Ace” Rothstein (De Niro), a gambling expert who is asked by the Chicago mob to oversee the day-to-day casino and hotel operations at the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. Other major characters include “made man” Nicky Santoro (Pesci), and Ginger McKenna (Stone), a streetwise hustler.

The recently listed home – currently owned by an unnamed dancer – had previously belonged to John Spilotro, the brother of Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, who served as the inspiration for Pesci’s character Nicky Santoro, a brutal street enforcer. John inspired the character of Nicky’s brother Dominick in the movie, who was played by Philip Suriano.

According to an interview by the Las Vegas Review Journal, “John was a known operative” of the Chicago mafia known as “The Outfit,” – was one of Tony’s five brothers and was investigated by the FBI.

3179 DESMOND AVENUE, LAS VEGAS – $550,000.00

The brothers had both lived on the same block and were both members of “Hole in the Wall Gang,” headed up by the elder Spilotro; the family gained a large degree of fame and infamy following the release of “Casino,” which was based on a true-crime novel by author Nicholas Pileggi.

Tony – who had been accused by the FBI of murdering as many as two dozen people in Illinois and Nevada – and another one of his brothers, Victor, were killed just outside of the city of Chicago in 1986. It is unknown if John is still alive.

John’s former luxurious one-story home in Las Vegas has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and is located close to the Strip and the airport. It was recently remodeled and renovated, and while the outside is fairly average looking, the interior boasts large rooms with opulent trappings as well as numerous amenities, including an inground pool, hot tub, a treehouse, and even a zip line.

685 DRAGON PEAK DRIVE, HENDERSON - $34,000,000.00

All-Time Highest-Priced Home Sold in Las Vegas For Sale Again Just Two Years Later

LAS VEGAS, NV – The all-time highest priced home sold in Las Vegas is suddenly finding itself back on the market a mere two years after it was originally purchased, however with a substantial uptick in its asking price.

The three-story, 15,000 square-foot home in Henderson’s MacDonald Highlands community earned its place in the record books after it was sold in 2021 for a whopping $25 million, after initially being listed on the market at $28 million.

The brand-new home, located at 685 Dragon Peak Park and built by luxury developer Blue Heron, was purchased by billionaire and LoanDepot Founder and Chairman Anthony Hsieh.

However, the home has recently found itself back on the open market once again, this time for the even more eye-opening sum of $34 million; when asked why its owner was willing to part with the property so soon after purchasing it, the listing agent stated that Hsieh is moving out because he is working on yet another home with Blue Heron that he intends to move into once its development is finished.

685 DRAGON PEAK DRIVE, HENDERSON – $34,000,000.00

An ultra-sleek, high-tech showcase with a plethora of eye-opening amenities, Hsieh’s soon-to-be-former residence features a great room with retractable walls, an office casita, water on three sides, views of both the Las Vegas Strip and the Red Rock Mountains, 200 solar panels, and a “smart home” system that allows users full control over the security system, sound system, and energy management.

The home also boasts seven bedrooms – including a primary suite with a private patio and a separate suite accessed by a glass bridge – as well as nine bathrooms and a garage with room for up to 11 cars.

The home’s chef’s kitchen is also impressive, with Wolf and Sub-Zero touchscreen appliances, a full catering kitchen, and a glass wine cellar.

While Hsieh’s $34 million asking price may seem steep, it should be noted that new-build luxury sales in Las Vegas have been proven to be largely immune to the real estate slowdown plaguing most of the nation, already breaking its record for the number of sales over $1 million in the first half of 2023.

99 Spanish Gate Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89113

Las Vegas Compound, Previously Occupied by Michael Jackson and Prince of Brunei, on Market for $25 Million

LAS VEGAS, NV – A massive compound located in Las Vegas’ affluent Spanish Trail community that was previously owned by the Prince of Brunei – and at one time occupied by late pop singer Michael Jackson – has been listed on the market for a whopping $25 million

The compound, coming in at over 110,000-square-feet and located on a 16-acre plot of land, is located at 99 Spanish Gate Drive and at one time was linked to Jefri Bolkiah, the prince of the tiny Asian country of Brunei. Reports also indicate that in 2007 Michael Jackson had moved into Bolkiah’s compound and stayed there for some time.

Construction of the property – referred to as “an unfinished masterpiece” by its principal broker, Ivan Sher – began in 1996, and is approximately 90 percent complete; there has been no additional development of the compound since 1999, Sher said.

The home is completely enclosed and finished, but what’s not included is appliances and some detailed finish work isn’t complete, but for the most part it’s a mostly completed home,” he said. “When they built it, they had different expectations about moving to Las Vegas and ultimately ended up not moving.”

99 SPANISH GATE DRIVE, LAS VEGAS – $25,000,000.00

Sher has not named the current owners of the property, noting that he has not dealt with them directly and instead has been conducting business through their lawyers and financial advisors; the reason the property has been put on the market is unknown, he said.

The 110,320-square-foot compound has 10 interconnecting buildings, with the main house coming in at 37,466-square-feet with five bedrooms and eight baths. There’s also a 47,367-square-foot athletic club/pool house with an indoor badminton and squash courts, a hotel-sized spa and gym, indoor pool, bowling alley and nightclub.
